Dreams in Gold

Gustav Klimt- Judith and the Head of Holofernes v. The Space Cadet | Abbey Lee Kersaw by Emma Summerton for i-D

Both women are portrayed as being openly sexual and inviting. Klimt's portrayal indicates a sort of regal demeanor while Summerton juxtaposes Kersaw's high fashion with the lowliness of the ground and sand. Though both have a common feeling of openness there is a feeling of unobtainibyilty that resonates from both of these regal women. Also, Klimt was thoroughly obsessed with gold-leafing and Kersaw, his fahsion twin, is herself painted gold, furthering the bond between the two works.

I am a huge Klimt admirer and it is highly probable that he will be popping up often.
